Welcome to the Fall 2009 Wiki for Marketing 1 (70381) taught by Prof. Jeff Galak

This wiki has two goals:
  1. Because Marketing 1 is a course of breadth and not depth, we will cover lots of topics that span different areas within marketing. As such, this wiki will act as a way to integrate the different ideas that you all have learned in one centralized place. By the end of the semester I expect this wiki to grow beyond what we covered in the class and to encompass ideas and examples from the "real world." Feel free to include timely news stories, websites, or anything that you think is relevant to the course material. Be creative!
  2. With 75 students per section, it is difficult to have everyone actively participate in class discussions. As such, this wiki will be a way for those of you who don't have the opportunity to participate in class, to still earn participation credit. I will check this wiki at the end of the semester and will see who has contributed what.

In general, I would like this to be a place where you, the students, can interact with one another outside of the classroom. The collaborative nature of a wiki allows you to work with one another to understand all of the concepts that we cover in class.

Please make a seperate "Lecture" page for each lecture (as I did with the first 2...see the left menu). You can also make any other pages that you think may help (e.g. "Interseting Links", "Glossary of Terms", etc...)

One last comment: once the semester starts, I will not be making ANY changes to this site. It is entirely up to you to keep it up to date. The point of this site is not to be another blackboard, but rather to be a repository of knoweldge...your knowedlge.

Good luck and have fun!
Prof. Glak
