People who has spent any time abroad whether on vacation or working overseas will soon realize what good value the BBC licence is and what high quality programming the BBC and other UK television channels provide.

The BBC and other British TV networks broadcasters use an IP address based technology to define which people can watch their content and viewers whose IP address isn't in the UK will get a message 'Not available in your area' when making an attempt to use iPlayer.

Part of the cause of this is to protect their cash, for instance, popular dramas like the wonderful BBC production of 'The diary of Anne Frank' will be sold to other countries and the revenue made will be used to pay for other productions.
