アニメで、英語や日本語を物にしよう!
This wiki is a collection of anime transcripts in English and Japanese. (Yes, you read it right.) All transcripts are being typed up by volunteers. We are always waiting for you to join us if you are interested in either anime or learning languages. Actually, since this site is a wiki, it is open and anyone can contribute to this project anytime.
The project has grown out of a discussion in 2ch.net where a lot of English learners want to improve their language skills through listening to something amazing that could hardly make their interests lost. It's not textbooks, it's not novels... it's anime! I think those of you that are learning Japanese may have had a similar path in learning it; only if English learners could do the same! Speaking of anime, we are also aware that there are excellent cartoons in English out there, such as The Simpsons, Futurama, etc; however, they contain sophisticated dialogues that seem to be quite difficult for novice English-learners, not to mention the cultural context that it is sometimes difficult to relate to.
This is why we have made up our mind to watch anime... in English!

ここは、日本アニメの英語吹き替え版を使って、英語や日本語を勉強する人達のためのサイトです。
英語の勉強で一番大切であり、そして一番難しいことは、その学習を 継続 することです。しかし、英語学習用/英会話訓練用の教材では、すぐに飽きてしまう経験を何度もされているでしょう。そういう方でも、自分の大好きな映画やドラマ、アニメなら何度でも繰り返して楽しむことができます。アニメが好きな人にとって、英語吹き替えされたアニメは、英語/英会話学習の非常によい教材となります。登場人物になりきったシャドウイング(Shadowing)はもちろんのこと、ディクテーション(Dictation)によるスクリプト(Transcript/字幕)作成を支援することもリスニング力の向上に大きな効果があります。また、聞き取れなかった箇所や疑問点を掲示板(Language Learning Through Anime)に挙げれば、するどい返事をもらます。アニメを楽しんでいるうちに、いつの間にか大きな英語の力を身につけていることでしょう。

- Is it also alright if English users contribute to the English transcripts alongside correcting entries already put up (by Japanese users)? - Is it also alright if I can put closed captioning on episodes of the Bamboo Blade English dub and post them on Nico Nico Douga for Japanese anime watchers to study from? I hope it won't be too much of a burden. -- JohtoKen (2009-12-14 11:25:48)
- Videos with closed captions sound great for me. But I'm afraid that Nico Nico Douga guys aren't as generous as they were anymore. So they will probably remove all of the English dubbed videos right after you post them since the Nico guys have to do this to continue their business. -- luke (2009-12-14 14:03:16)

- amazonアフェリエイトIDとかいうのを持ってなくても、atwikiってアフェリエイトを貼ることができるんですね。その場合収入はatwikiサイト運営者に行くようです。
#amazon(商品番号, image) と書くだけで使えるけど、試してみたら非常にしょぼかった。一見amazonのアフィリエイトであることさえもわからない。

- 掲示板(Language Learning Through Anime)で指摘のあった点を改善します。 "英語、アニメ"で検索した時、このサイトの検索順位が低いので、サイト名に英語とアニメの単語を入れてみることにしました。結構効果があるはずと思っていますが、効果が無いようであれば元に戻します。トップページのタイトルも工夫したいところですが、ここを変更するとページ右上のカウンタがゼロにリセットされてしまうんですよね。 -- admin (2009-06-22 22:43:56)

- おお、Funimationから出ている Bamboo Blade 1巻パッケージにはリージョン1と書いてあるけど、リージョン2のプレイヤーでも再生できました。
2巻の方は最初から リージョン1,2,4と書いてあるし。初めて北米版DVDを買ってみようと思う人にはお勧めです。 -- (luke) 2010-03-01 01:11:29
